Week 2 Here We Go

First things first, ROLL TIDE! National Champions #14

It is week 2 of teaching and I am needless to say still overwhelemed, excited, stressed, scattered, OCD, happy, frustrated, concerned, but most of all I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I have students in grades 7th-9th and they are all awsome! (Yes I know ALL of them!) They are all so different and so fun to work with. Some of them are a challenge but, those are the good ones. The halls of my old high school are still filled with the same teachers I had in many cases so it is funny to talk to them like a co-worker.

Adam and I are having so much fun this new year. We have some fun news, no I'm not pregnant, so Mom if you are reading this sorry to let you down. But we did get a new truck! Adam wanted a 4 door BIG truck as I call is so we got one this past weekend!

I am also really excited about things going on at our church, Second Creek Church of Christ. I am so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful church family. We have had some really uplifting sermons and Bible classes lately.

Last but not least I have also started working with weddings again! Nope not the craziness of running my own business. Just doing a little wedding planning this summer with some pretty awesome brides!

The below is my picture for the day! Wishing for SNOW!

New..... Well Everything

It has been a while........

This year has been full of ups, downs, surprises, and memories. I had just begun to settle down in our home in Waterloo, when I was blessed with another new opportunity. I was hired to be a Business Education teacher at Central High School. This opportunity certainly did not come the way I would have wanted to ever ask for. My former business teacher passed away from a sudden heart attack. So many memories began to come back to me. When I walked in the classroom the first time after getting my key I looked straight at the desk I had sat in more than 10 years ago. I couldn't express the feeling that I had sitting in the room for the first time. I hope this journey will be one of humble and meaningful experiences that my students can take with them and use throughout their lives. So for now I am cleaning, straightening, and decorating my classroom! Did I happen to mention that my Nonna (grandmother) taught in the room that joins mine for over 30 years? She was the business teacher at Central High School also. I am pretty sure that I learned how to type on a type writer before I learned to write. (I have terrible handwriting but I type like a pro!) It is very special to be following in my Nonna's footsteps. My Daddy also taught at Central for several years and began the softball program here. Now my sister Laura is the head softball coach and I will be helping in whatever she needs done. It is amazing what a great coach she is! I just hope we can make and impression on the girls like our coaches did. (Mr. and Mrs. Young) They were certainly a huge part of molding the people we are today. So as the New Year begins I will start with a new job, new house, new family, new last name, and so many blessings I can not name them all. I can't wait to meet my students and start teaching!

As my Daddy always told us, even when he wore blue, once a Wildcat always a Wildcat!

I will be posting some pictures of the classroom as is progresses!

Mr. Larry's Pumpkin Patch

The twins, as my daddy calls them!

If you mention to my Daddy you want something or have an idea he will secretly become obsessed with making it come true. I decided when we were going to have a fall wedding I wanted to have some pumpkins. No, NOT Halloween looking, just pretty pumpkins. I told him and now we have a pumpkin patch behind our house. He did such a good job! He calls himself the "pumpkin man". I walk out to the garden and look at them everyday. I love the pumpkins! I am so thankful to have my Daddy I don't know what I would do without him.

Just one of the pumpkin patches!

This is similar to the arrangements Cindy will be doing. Check her out on Facebook, Cindy Harrison, Florals by Cindy!

I also love the momogrammed pumpkins! We are going to do something like this with our initials.

Family Vaca!

I feel like every weekend we have something to do the entire weekend. Sleep late? Yeah right that is what you did during the summer in high school. The past 2 weekends have been filled with weddings and recovery from weddings. Now this weekend we are going to see some of Adam's family I have never met, they live in Indiana. So for the 13 hour drive, yes I said drive I am going to catch up on my sleep and look around. I have never been to Indiana. I am most excited about going to Shipshewana! It is an Amish Community! I LOVE Amish people. If it weren't for the no electicity and drab  blue dresses for girls pretty sure I could try it for a day or two. Below I have listed the items I want to purchase from the Amish in Shipshewana.

#1 BREAD- I LOVE homemade Amish Bread
#2 Soap- Their homemade soap smells amazing, wonder why they don't use it?
#3 Basket for our living room

My ultimate goal is to see if one of them will let me take a picture with them. The ones in Lawerenceburg won't let me. I especially love Amish kids! There are always so many of them and they are so cute.
The movie "For Richer or Poorer" is Adam's idea of Amish.

Music Madness

I am having serious issues trying to decide on music for the wedding. All traditional? Contemporary? HELP! It's hard to decide what I want when I feel like I have seen every wedding in the world. Also my mother has made me swear not to play sappy songs such as Daddy/Daughter Songs, Little Girl songs, or leaving home songs. So what in the world am I going to do? I have a few listed that I am thinking about.

How Great Thou Art- The Carrie Underwood Version, AMAZING!
Bridal Chorus- Traditional
My Wish- Rascal Flatts
I Hope You Dance- Le Anne Womack- One of my Daddy's Favs
Have I Told you Lately that I Love You- Rod Stewart one of my Favs

I know 2 songs that we will for sure play
Lost in This Moment-Big & Rich, this is Adam's only request for the Wedding
Ever Ever After- Carrie Underwood from the Movie Enchanted, this will be the Recessional Song

Any suggestions I need them ASAP! And I am not a count down person at all but might as well throw it out there, it is 107 days til the wedding!

Dogs, Cats, Both

For anyone who knows anything about me knows I LOVE animals! I can remeber my cats having kittens under our house or in my Daddy's bathroom closet and sitting for hours and sometimes days "loving" on the kittens. Well Laura, my sister, is allergic to cats and we had to get rid of ours when we got older. I am DYING to have a cat. I always said when I moved out I would get a white fluffy cat. So now I have changed to a white fluffy dog. No one wants me to get a cat :( So I am trying to narrow it down to a Maltipoo, West Highland Terrier, or a Tea Cup Poodle. HELP! I want them ALL!

I think the Westie is my FAV!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

I now have most of the house done so I can begin decorating and my 5,000 projects I want to accomplish before October. My main focus for the bathroom is a vintage or DIY oval mirror. I want it to be a destressed white look Most everything I am finding has been sea shells which I do not want.
I love this look but not square and I don't want sea shells.

I also love this one but I need it to be bigger!

So I have started the hunt for a mirror! We shall see how it goes.

It is now 18 days til Laura's wedding. I am so ready we are headed to the beach this weekend and I can not WAIT!
